Govt must give licencing role to local authorities

The Harare Residents Trust has advised the government to give the role of licensing of vehicles to the local authorities to ensure equitable distribution of funds

"Government should give back the vehicle licensing role to local authorities or make sure that ZINARA equitably distributes funds so that local authorities can carry out effective road maintenance in and around Harare," said the trust.

Zinara is the one that is currently licensing vehicles and collects toll fees from the motorists.
