Zimbabwe risks losing voting rights

Zimbabwe risks losing its voting rights in the UN, AU and SADC if government fails to pay $90million owed to the institutions.

This was said by acting permanent secretary in the Foreign Affairs ministry,David Hamadziripi, while presenting oral evidence on their 2016 budget priorities to the Foreign Affairs parliamentary portfolio committee yesterday.

He said his ministry was worried with subscription arrears owed to the UN, AU and SADC. He warned that failure to honour the contractual obligations risks putting the name of the country into disrepute.
