Zimbabwe's Mbare Magistrate Stanford Mambanje on Tuesday 27 October 2015 fined two police officers Detective Sergeant Tirivangani Madhimba and Detective Constable Persuade Chikwana $100 each after convicting them for committing common assault failure of which they will serve 20 days in prison.
Madhibha and Chikwana tortured and severely assaulted Dingani Nsingo three years ago as they sought to extract confessions from him and force him to pay a bribe and "compensation" to a friend of the police officers and ZLHR pursued the case as a part of its anti-impunity campaign.
Nsingo, is now walking with the aid of clutches as a result of the brutal assault which was carried out at Waterfalls Police Station in May 2012.
Nsingo suffered multiple permanent injuries after his ordeal
