Six graves to be exhumed to pave way for land development

SIX graves at a farm in the outskirts of Harare are set to be exhumed to pave way for a development project.
The graves are at former Romany-of-Galway Estate and relatives have been given up to November 4 to lodge any objections.
Reads the notice seen by Bulawayo24: "A notice is made in line with the Cemeteries Act (CAP 5:05) by a land development through its Environmental Consultant : Green Resources Company (PVT) LTD that there is an intention to exhume identified six (6) graves in the former Romany-of- Galway Estate.
"The exhumation shall be made to pave way for a Land Development Project that shall be conducted at the farm.
The farm is located to the left-hand side along Harare-Mutare highway, exactly 2,5km from Ruwa turn-off.
We are looking for any person with any obligation or is directly related or connected with the said graves to respond…no later than the 4th of November 2015".
Early this month, Harare City Council announced plans to relocate graves from Donnybrook Farm to Mabvuku Cemetery and gave affected relatives 21 days to respond.
Failure to respond would result in the local authority to relocate the graves without relative being involves.
