Police vow to crush MDC-T demonstrations

President Robert's ruthlessly efficient police yesterday threatened to crush opposition protests aimed at driving him out of office.

This comes as the MDC youth assembly vowed to ratchet up public protests, with chairman Happymore Chidziva warning that demonstrations against Mugabe's government would continue as planned.

But police insisted yesterday they would deal with any demonstrations "firmly" and keep all protestors away from then streets.
