War vets bay for G40 blood

In a stunning development that invalidates claims by some Zanu-PF bigwigs that there are no deadly factional and succession wars in the ruling party, war veterans say the party's ambitious G40, are behind the anarchy bedeviling the ruling party.

An angry ZNLWVA secretary-general, Victor Matemadanda, asserted that the G40 were fighting to destroy VP Emmerson Mnangagwa, by setting him up against President Robert Mugabe's wife Grace.

Matemadanda also backed the statement by Zimbabwe Youth Action Platform, which recently savaged ministers Patrick Zhuwao, Saviour Kasukuwere and Jonathan Moyo, as well as Phillip Chiyangwa.

Matemanda also admitted that the battle to succeed Mugabe had now reached "fever-pitch", with many people in the ruling party dreaming about taking over the presidency.
