Harare West MP Jessie Majome on Thursday declared that it was the first anniversary after she filed an application challlenging the licencing by ZBC considering the fact that the broadcaster had become clearly a Zanu PF mouth piece.
"Today (Thursday) I mark the anniversary of waiting for my Constitutional Court judgment of my challenge of the constitutionality of ZBC listener's licences given the requirement in sec 61 of the Constitution for a public broadcaster to be independent, non partisan and not subject to the control of anyone," she said.
"Yet ZBC is effectively a ZANU PF party broadcaster. I pray that this 1st anniversary is the last, and for victory. I can't think of more appropriate tribute than Aung San Suu Kyi the Myanmar democracy activist who just trounced the military regime in elections after lengthy gruelling persecution. I saw this quote here in Arusha where I am. Congratulations to her and the Myanmar people. We shall overcome!"
