Young Zimbabwe are looking for a solution driven government which can listen to its people and value the opinions of ordinary citizens, a social and political commentator has said.
Basil Muchewe posted on Facebook that the G40 sounded like an idea all young people could buy into but with this sort of mindset from my right (Patrick) Zhuwao.
"I doubt young Zimbabweans want a continuation of more of the same mindset. The revolution is now different therefore different set of rules have got to be formulated," he said.
"Young Zimbabweans are looking for a solution driven government a government which can listen to its people a government that values the opinion of an ordinary man from Mbare. A solution that involves the people not the government wholly prescribing their one sided bigoted solutions through their bookish understanding of economics. In 2013 run up to the general election i lived in Glenview for 6 Months."
He said he has seen first hand of the suffering in the ghetto.
"I was among staunch supporters of ZANUPF then. People who used to go for formal employment wakutengesa muriwo matomato and airtime," he said.
"One of my neigbours came to me and wanted just US20 to start a business I gave them yes but obviously it didn't make sense to me what sort of business was that and I dont think such people will make sense sense to Minister Zhuwao because I doubt he has ever spend one night in the ghetto his whole life so its safe to say his solutions are bookish and imaginary not based on real issues faced by the ghetto youths."
Muchewe said ghetto is surrounded by the likes of lumumba who again are from a very privileged background.
"Most ghetto youths if not all these folks dont understand what is a business plan that can sell to a bank. I wish the young Ministers learn the art of listening and taking notes from the people themselves and using notes from the people it is possible that the economics fundametals can be applied relative to the information gathered from the suffering masses of Zimbabwe," he said.
"You will be surprised how much these people know and how much valuable information can come out of a man pushing chingoro kuMbare."
