Harare Prison has no ambulance

Harare Central Prison is operating without a single ambulance, exposing about 1 566 prisoners at risk.
The only ambulance available for sick inmates is undergoing extensive mechanical work.
There is no hope for it to be back on the roads soon as there are no spare parts.
The Prisons officer-in-charge Chief Superintendent Chakadonha Musonza said "Our hospital is currently operating without an ambulance and the one which we were using is currently in the intensive care at the workshop.
"We were using a lorry and a small car which we borrowed at CMED. There is little hope that the ambulance will be on the road anytime soon since we have no spare parts to repair it."
Musonza added that sick inmates rely on relatives for medication.
However, male inmates seem to be interested in circumcision as about 4000 have as of May gone under the knife.
