Respect party constitution, says Chombo

Zanu-PF secretary for Administration Ignatius Chombo has warned ruling party provinces against arbitrarily passing votes of no confidence on members without following the party's constitution, saying such actions should stop immediately.
Chombo also cautioned against ignoring party procedures in taking disciplinary action on party members, a situation he said was of major concern to the Zanu-PF national leadership.
The warning by Chombo comes in the wake of increased suspensions and counter-suspensions of party members in Zanu-PF ahead of the forthcoming 15th Annual National People's Conference.
As such, Kasukuwere said, Zanu-PF cadres should be content with their current positions.
Addressing delegates during a Mashonaland West provincial inter-district conference on Sunday, Kasukuwere said those carrying out covert operations were wasting their time as the revolutionary party's focus was on improving the livelihoods of Zimbabweans.
This is contrary to misinformed assertions by some sections of the media that the conference, slated for December 7 to 13 in Victoria Falls, would see the Zanu-PF constitution being amended and some leadership changes taking place.
