NGO transforms into political outfit

Inspired by South Africa's EFF, the Zimbabwe Unemployed People's Association (Zupa) has transformed into a fully fledged political party called Economic Corruption Freedom Fighters (ECFF).

Zupa has been pushing for the interests of economically disadvantaged people in the country since inception. Addressing journalists, ECFF president Innocent Ndibali said their mission was to rescue Zimbabwe from "decades of economic bondage".

He said the political party would be launched not later than March next year.
