A political analyst Munyaradzi Mlambo has claimed that former Vice President Joice Mujuru has enough political stock to propel her to presidency during the next coming elections in 2018.
"I do not subscribe to the notion that she should be carrying the fight to the ruling party from the opposition corner whilst the likes of Morgan Tsvangirai (MDC-T President) who has been in opposition politics for long backs her," he said.
"My view is born outrightly of the fact that Mujuru has not yet shown genuine remorse of the many wrongs she did during her former life and that she has not yet shown her repentance publicly through coming out of the closet and renouncing Zanu PF misdeeds."
He said if the widow genuinely yearns for change in Zimbabwe and for Zimbabweans, the right thing for her to do is first accept that she was part and parcel of the crew that destroyed Zimbabwe therefore can not be an active member of the team that takes over to build it.
"Hence, it is improper for Mujuru to harbor Presidential ambitions if she fancies chances of being forgiven by Zimbabwean whom her and former counterparts in Zanu PF caused pain and misery in their lives. The right thing for Mujuru is to dedicate her efforts in uniting opposition parties, pledge her support to them in possible ways she can whilst she just plays background."
