MDC-T needs a bonded coalition with all Zimbabweans to win elections -Analyst

A Political commentator Jackson Muzivi has said the MDC-T needs a bonded coalition with all Zimbabweans to win elections.
"Every political formation is born out of the common belief among its subscribers that it is a grand coalition of like minded opponents of the ruling regime. Our obsession with grand coalition of opposition parties is premised on the perception that every opposition leader is an opponent of the ruling regime and in that respect must be therefore of like mind to his/her counterparts and likewise the followers," he said.
"How wrong we are? The followers of different leaders are in a grand coalition around the personality or brand they perceive their leader to be and thus are not opposed to just the ruling regime but anyone else who is not subservient to their leader"
Muzivi said to win elections we must ensure the electoral play-field is reformed in the letter and spirit of our constitution, allow free transparent and credible competition by whoever feels like competing for any political position.
"The will and desire of the people will manifest in their choice which we know will not be to be presided over by vicious economic incompetents incapacitated by age and corruption or opportunist fortune diggers with little or no interest to improve others," he said.
"MDC-T does not really need a top dressing grand coalition with leaders of other political formations but rather a bonded coalition with all Zimbabweans yearning for real change that will turnaround their economic misfortunes into overnight economic prosperity as was demonstrated by the GNU era which they took for granted was a Zanu PF stepping platform to their prosperity and thus did not need to be interfered with even if it was a stolen platform."
He said now they all know better. Zanu PF will never manage a prosperous economy.
