Mugabe officials, military clash

Clashes have erupted in government over the supply SAP software solutions and security of government information between senior officials in the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC) supported by CIO bosses and the ICT ministry backed by the military.

The bone of contention is whether Twenty Third Century Systems should continue providing SAP solutions despite foreign shareholding.

ICT ministry officials and the military worry over the security of government's information came after Twenty Third Century Systems sold between 49 and 80% equity to JSE listed EOH Holdings Limited. OPC and CIO chiefs want the company to continue, but ICT ministry and army chiefs want Portnet Software which they took over to start offering the services.
