Zanu-PF Gokwe-Nembudziya MP Mayor Wadyajena has been dragged before the Harare Civil Court for allegedly failing to pay $2,260 for motor vehicle tyres he acquired from Amcotts Trading (Private) Limited.
The company's lawyers cited Wadyajena and his company Mayor Logistics (Private) Limited as respondents.
According to court summons, Mayor Logistics bought several tyres and tyre accessories between January and December last year but failed to make full payment within 30 days as agreed between the two parties.
Wadyajena signed suretyship and co-principal debtorship agreement, agreeing to settle all debts in the event that Mayor Logistics defaults.
Wadyajena has not responded to the court application but has since filed an appearance to defend.
