The First Lady, Grace Mugabe, who is also the Zanu PF Secretary for Women Affairs, has slammed non-governmental organisations (NGOs), for giving people food. She claims that NGOs tell people to stop supporting Zanu-PF.
Addressing Zanu PF supporters (mostly elderly people) in Maphisa, Matabeleland South Province today, Mugabe, warned Zanu-PF supporters to be wary of NGOs that are meddling in politics using food handouts as a bait.
"Instead of giving you fishing lines, the NGOs are giving you fish, and try to sway your thinking towards the government," said Mugabe.
Grace said: "This Christmas will be different, am bringing some goodies for you as your mother. I don't want you to starve."
She told people that she brought 120 tonnes of rice, 1000 tonnes of maize, washing soap 4000kg, 500kgs of cloths, 2000 shoes, 2000kgs of salt, 1800litres of cooking oil.
