Mphoko says G40 is a myth

Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko says there is nothing called G40 in the ruling Zanu-PF party as sensationally claimed by the local private media.
After the ousting of Joice Mujuru and her cabal, fondly referred to as the Gamatox, from the party last year, the private has gone further, sensationally claiming that fresh divisions have erupted in the party with a younger generation pitting against another alleged faction aligned to Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
Mphoko, who accompanied the First Lady, Dr Grace Mugabe, to a rally at Mushayavanhu Business Centre in Gutu, Masvingo province today, however watered down all the claims when he referred to the G40 claims as a myth.
"The G40 that people are talking about is a myth, can someone explain to me what G40 means and who is in that group," said Mphoko, adding that all those using the media to peddle falsehoods in pursuit of selfish interests should stop forth with.
Mphoko warned divisive elements in the party that the leadership is aware of their machinations.
He also called Zanu PF National Secretary for Youth Affairs in the Politburo, Pupurai Togarepi, to the podium and told him to reprimand youths to desist from indiscipline and undermining authority.
Going down memory lane, Mphoko said Zimbabwe warn independence because of unity and discipline fighters were taught during training.
