Grade 7 drop outs of school after marriage proposal

A grade seven pupil at Kandodo Primary School in Zvishavane has reportedly dropped out of school after her 20-year-old boyfriend asked for her hand in marriage.
Reports say the two had been in a relationship for about two years since 2013.
This was discovered after the boy friend Talent Koroni of Kandodo was arregned before the court charged with having sexual intercourse with a minor.
Koroni said he wanted to marry the girl and had even told her about the intention.
Koroni is alleged to have lured the 14-year-old minor to his home and had consensual sexual intercourse. They were caught by the girl's friend making love. The matter was reported to the girl's mother who reported to Zvishavane Police station leading to the arrest of Koroni.
Koroni was convicted and sentenced to 12 months in jail by Magistrate Story Rushambwa. Four months were suspended for five years on condition of good behaviour.
