Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa has scoffed at media reports alleging that the revolutionary party is now weak and heavily divided.

Mnangagwa addressed the party leadership and supporters Nyanga at Supa Mandiwanzira's victory celebrations and elevation to ministerial post.

In a speech read by Zanu-PF Politburo member, Jorum Gumbo, Mnangagwa told the Zanu-PF leadership and supporters that the party is still united and strong.

"The government under the leadership of President Robert Mugabe will continue to seek ways of enhancing economic empowerment and growth to improve the welfare of its citizens," he added.

The development agenda is the main priority, according to the host, Mandiwanzira, who added that his target is to leave a legacy in the constituency.

Zanu-PF Manicaland Provincial Chairman, Dr Samuel Undenge said focus is on winning all the legislative seats come 2018, while Politburo member, Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri underscored the need to deliver on election promises.

The victory celebrations were attended by legislators, Zanu-PF Central Committee and Politburo members, supporters from Nyanga district and beyond.
