President Mugabe said his government will no longer accept companies who refuse to comply with the law.

Foreign companies who have failed to comply with Zimbabwe's indigenisation laws will be required to do so in 2016.

President Robert Mugabe was closing the annual Zanu-PF party conference in Victoria Falls on Saturday.

The conference focused on directing economic policy priorities for 2016.

Mugabe said his government will no longer accept companies who refuse to comply with the law.

"Come January and its 2016, that stubbornness and resistance we say should end in 2015…2016, we will not accept a company which refuses and rejects our policy of indigenisation and empowerment."

Mugabe said the law requires 51% local ownership in the mining sector, but is flexible in others, reiterating that the country would not relax its laws to improve foreign relations with the west.

As the conference ended, Mugabe emerged strong, but he sent warnings to those leaders within the war veterans camp who have been pushing to ensure former liberation are put in key positions.

He said war veterans should not lord their credentials in party hierarchy.

All the provinces and party wings unanimously endorsed President Mugabe as the party's candidate for the 2018 presidential elections.

The powerful women's league led by the first lady, Grace Mugabe, resolved that there be a female vice president by 2016.

However the motion received little support from the wider party.

The party resolutions will be reviewed by the party's central committee which will decide which to adopt.
