Zim ministries will be on e-government by April 2012

According to ZBC News the government says all ministries and its departments should be on electronic platform e-government, by the first quarter of next year in a development that is expected to improve service delivery.
This was revealed by the Chief Secretary in the office of the President and Cabinet, Dr Misheck Sibanda at an e-government workshop for State Enterprises and Parastatals in Harare.
Government ministries and departments are expected to fully embrace the e-government platform by the first quarter of 2012 to have an improved internal systems and governance.
Dr Sibanda said government is aiming at bringing service delivery at the door step of citizens.
Twenty-third Century Systems Chief Executive, Mr. Ellman Chanakira and ZBC's IT Manager Mr. Rungano Tagwirei said information and technology systems guarantee efficiency and should be implemented.
E-government is meant to bring government closer to citizens, and reduce corruption and bureaucracy associated with traditional methods of service delivery.
