Presidential spokesperson George Charamba has said President Robert Mugabe referred to his prepared speech at the just-ended Zanu-PF conference in Victoria Falls as he wished to use it for maximum communication, including translating into local languages.

Charamba added the President had used his speech "judiciously and creatively instead of reading the whole text".

He was responding to an article titled Mugabe in another speech blip, refuting reports that the President came within a whisker of going through another script of a wrong speech at the weekend.
