Morgan Tsvangirai lead MDC has joined in the search for Given Matapure, the 3-year-old boy who went missing at the Harare Agricultural Show five weeks ago, NewsDay reports.
The police have made no headway and promises of a cash reward have also failed to produce any results.
MDC-T youth assembly Harare provincial chairman Stewart Mukoyi confirmed the party had alerted its memberships to help in the search.
"We have activated our structures in the search for the poor child and to this end we have circulated his picture to all our members in the youth wing, to the lowest ranking official at street level.
"The MDC would like to urge our members to do all they can to try and locate Given and to inform the nearest police station of any information that might help," said Mukoyi.
Mukoyi added that MDC-T Harare province is concerned at the failure by police and the security establishment to find the missing boy.
"We as the youth, are very worried that a child goes missing without trace and the police and other State security apparatus have shown astonishing apathy and lack of interest in tracing the whereabouts of Given Flint Matapure."
Given's predicament has touched many hearts and last week, representatives from the Child Parliament visited his home in Waterfalls, to show solidarity.
A sombre atmosphere engulfed the home when the boy's mother Wengesai Matapure broke into tears as she narrated her ordeal which began as a family fun day at the Showgrounds, only to end in tragedy.
