Mugabe's ally dies

Former Deputy Minister of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing Senator Aguy Georgias has died.

He was 80.

Senator Georgias died in the early hours of today (Friday) at A.M.I Hospital in Harare where he had been admitted.

His daughter Tina Georgias confirmed the death, adding that her father had spent about one and half months seeking medical attention in South Africa.

When he came back home, he was admitted at A.M.I where he died.

In 2012, Senator Georgias filed papers in the general court in Luxembourg for a claim for significant damages from the European Union Council and EU commission over imposing illegal sanctions on his company and Zimbabwe.

Mourners are gathered at Number 14, Browning Drive, Strathaven in Harare.
