Grace Mugabe hails supporters of Danhiko Project

First Lady, Amai Grace Mugabe, the Patron of Danhiko Project has paid tribute to the business community, individuals and other well-wishers for their contribution and support to the Dandiko Annual Paralympic Games and the Danhiko Project as a whole.

Addressing , government officials and members of the diplomatic corps who attended the opening ceremony of the  23rd Edition of the Danhiko Paralympic games in Harare today, Amai Mugabe said the games have become an annual event where people  from all parts of the country and beyond  come together  in support of people with disabilities.

She said while there has been limited resources available to the games, the sheer joy of celebrating unity surpasses all setbacks.

Amai Mugabe said in the 23 years of existence, the games have travelled a long and sometimes challenging road which has made them popular.

She said because of the popularity of the games, the Danhiko Sports Administration was forced to limit the number of participating clubs to remain with manageable number.

Mai Mugabe said gatherings such as the Danhiko games help improve sporting excellence.

Speaking at the same occasion, Youth Development, Indigenisation and Empowerment Minister, Cde Savior Kasukuwere hailed Amai Mugabe for helping the less privileged children through Danhiko Project and the Mazowe Orphanage.

A total of 2 300 participants from 110 clubs and schools, are participating at this year's edition of the Danhiko games including a club from Botswana.
