13 people died in road accidents on the 24th of December, a figure that is slightly lower than recorded on the same day in 2014 when 17 people perished.
127 accidents were recorded on December 24, 21 more than the 106 recorded on the same day last year.
62 people were injured this year, 16 more than the 46 recorded in 2014.
Meanwhile, police have warned officers manning roadblocks against engaging in corrupt activities.
There has been a general trend by motorists especially commuter operators to offer bribes to traffic police officers at roadblocks.
Police Chief Spokesperson, Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba, said police officers engaging in such activities risk losing their jobs.
Luck ran out for some three commuter omnibus drivers who were arrested when that offered bribes to traffic police officers at a roadblock in Harare.
