Higher, Tertiary Science and Technology minister Jonathan Moyo has declared that there was no special reason why the government has not paid the civil servants their salaries and bonuses before Christmas.

In a tweeter Moyo said the excuse over government's failure to pay the workers before Christmas would be hardly accepted.

Government announced before Christmas that it would start paying workers on December 28 with teachers benefiting first while the rest of the civil servants were expected to get their pay on December 29. But the same government has since shifted the dates with teachers expected to get paid on December 29 while the rest of the workers are to be paid on January 5 2016

"Let's be honest without prejudice, fear or favour, there's no acceptable excuse or reason for not paying civil servants salaries before Xmas," tweeted Moyo.

Munjodzi Mutandiri  responded saying the gov can and they don't care as long as they are getting their loot for being in power.

Sure Kamhunga said it was even more inexcusable if ministers were paid.

"Shows lack of planning. Not like treasury wasn't aware there is December pay," he said.

Mutumwa Mawere ‏ said since Moyo work with others as team, why ask a question that he  have an answer for?

Basil Makoni ‏ said cabinet doesn't sit on Twitter.

"That discussion is for Tuesdays; and must be concluded in cabinet," he said.

Majaira Jairosi ‏ said  It's evil not to pay civil servants their salaries.

"The Chief Crook renting in State House doesn't give a toss about his people," he said.
