Road accidents claim 10 on Boxing Day, police impound over 60 unroadworthy vehicles

Police representative Chief Superintendent Paul Nyathi said 48 road accidents happened on Sunday while three deaths and 31 injuries were reported on the same day.

According to police reports 10 people died in 59 accidents recorded countrywide on Boxing Day alone.

Nyathi said police impounded 69 unroadworthy vehicles on Sunday. On the same day last year, 106 vehicles were impounded.

The festive season always records the worst accidents as there is a lot of movement and excitement which comes with the celebrations.
