Woman drags RBZ to court
05 Jan 2016 at 08:26hrs | Views
A Gweru woman has approached the Constitutional Court, challenging the use of multiple currencies by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, an institution she accuses of being incompetent and causing the fall of the Zim dollar.
Flattah Moyo says although she once approached the RBZ to offer her ideas on how to revive the Zimbabwean currency, no one was willing to engage her.
Moyo says the RBZ has failed to discharge its duties in accordance with the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Act Chapter 22:15 Section 6 which mandates the central bank to achieve and maintain the stability of the Zimbabwean dollar, to foster liquidity solvency, stability and proper functioning of Zimbabwe's financial system.
