Police take NewsDay journs back to station

There was reportedly dram today (Thursday) when the police were taking back to the station the two NewsDay reporters they arrested for allegedly publishing falsehoods.
Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights officer Kumbirai Mafunda posted on Facebook that the reporters were expected to appear in court but police officers were seen taking them back to the station after they visited the Prosecutor General's offices.
"Zim drama as police officers take journalists Nqaba Matshazi and Xolisani Ncube and AMH represented by Sifikile Thabete back to Harare Central Police Station after initially taking them to National Prosecuting Authority offices for possible appearance at Rotten Row Court this afternoon," said Mafunda. "The journalists who have been charged with contravening Section 31 (1) (ii) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act for allegedly publishing falsehoods are represented by lawyers Taona Nyamakura Mzokhuthula Mbuyiso of Mtetwa&Nyambirai Legal Practitioners."
Zimbabwe Union of Journalists has indicated that the two are expected to appear in court tomorrow (Friday).
