A farm worker at Moreson Farm in Makoni Central Constituency endured two nights of sleeping by the grave side guarding the remains of his child after the owner of the farm, Ms Simbarashe Chimonyo forcibly exhumed the remains in unclear circumstances.
The remains of Mr Peter Chakaora's child have since the 27th of December been kept under the bed as the family demands justice.
In an act which has been described by the Moreson community as taboo, a model A2 farmer, Ms Chimonyo allegedly ordered the exhumation of a body buried eight manths ago in unclear circumstances.
It is alleged that on the 27th of December last year, Ms Chomonyo ordered her two farm workers, the Chakaora and Kamwara families to exhume the remains of the child, to which Mr Chakaora refused.
Mr Chakaora said despite being threatened by a pistol to forcibly exhume the remains, they as a family refused, but the Kamwara family complied fearing for their lives.
Headman Nyambiya described the incident as taboo and fumed how someone can take the law into her own hands and dig up a grave before exhuming the remains without consent from the bereaved family members.
Mr Grant Hofmeyi, a supervisor at the farm, also recounted the ordeal.
A report was made by the complainant at Rusape Central Police Station under CR no244/12/15, but the police did not take any action.
