Tsvangirai, Biti, Dabengwa, Makoni only genuine candidates for 2018, Mujuru is Zanu PF - analyst

Renowned political analyst Rejoice Ngwenya has contended that the genuine political figures who can be listed for the 2018 presidential elections are MDC-T Leader morgan Tsvangirai, MDC leader Welshman Ncube, Zapu leader Dumiso Dabengwa, People's Democratic Party leader Tendai Biti and Mavambo/Kusile Dawn leader Simba Makoni.
But he described the former Vice President Joice Mujuru as purely Zanu PF who must not hoodwink people into believing she has changed.
"I don't know whether our (Zimbabwe) opposition leaders are naive, ignorant or simply blind. I hear them talk a lot about 2018 Parliamentary and Presidential elections - to participate or otherwise," Ngwenya said through his facebook post.
"I am a liberal democrat myself who truely believes in electoral and parliamentary democracy, but not the 'model' moderated by the current Zanu PF government. Welshman Ncube, Morgan Tsvangirai, Tendai Biti, Dumiso Dabengwa and Simba Makoni - are the most likely (genuine) political leaders to appear on the ballot paper in 2018. Joyce Mujuru is Zanu PF, so I will not waste my chalk on her."
He said his point is that Zanu PF currently controls all electoral institutions.
"In 2018, the situation will not have changed. Tobaiwa Mudede (Registrar General) is and will still be a member of ZANU.PF running the Zanu PF-anointed Voters Roll. He will (still) report to Rita Makarau (ZEC) another Zanu PF deployee masquerading as Chairperson of the electoral commission," Ngwenya said.
"The State broadcaster - ZBC - is Zanu PF, so is the army, air force, police, prison and militias. All Ministers and the bulk of Permanent Secretaries are Zanu PF, so is the Speaker of Parliament and also heads of Constitutional and Supreme Courts. All provincial and district administrators are Zanu PF, as much as all chiefs and headmen pay allegiance to Zanu PF."
Ngwenya said if opposition party leaders are saying they will only participate in elections if there is reform, are they insinuating that - apart from the sudden 'departure' of Robert Mugabe and the unlikely total disintegration of Zanu PF - all this electoral nonsense will be 'reformed' in only two years?
"Do these guys (Welshman Ncube, Morgan Tsvangirai, Tendai Biti, Dumiso Dabengwa, Simba Makoni) want elections OR political power? If they were opposition political leaders between 1965 and 1979, would they have 'requested' and got the same from Ian Smith and his Rhodesia Front? Zanu PF have no interest in real elections. They will never create (electoral) conditions conducive for Welshman Ncube, Morgan Tsvangirai, Tendai Biti, Dumiso Dabengwa or Simba Makoni to be president of Zimbabwe," he said.
