MDC-T secretary of mobilisation and recruitment Job Wiwa Sikhala has defended the party leader Morgan Tsvangirai saying he just represent the people' struggle and can not be blamed for the party's failure as an individual.

"The Zimbabwean crisis has never been a struggle for individuals. It has been the struggle of all of us. In general struggles have been owned by the people not individuals. Chofamba Sithole asked me a question which is always by those driven by their dislike of a person rather than an idea," he said. "He asked me whether it still needs spending my energy and effort to continue supporting Tsvangirai as he deemed him to have failed in dislodging Zanu PF. Would I still expect a different result?"

"Yes I do expect the different result my brother Chofamba. The struggle is not Tsvangirai 's alone. He is just there as a symbol representating our feelings and sentiments as a people but rather the struggle belongs to all of us."

Sikhala said the people of Zimbabwe own this struggle and they have a more bigger role than Tsvangirai.

"Blaming failure to him alone is not convincing. The blame lies to all Zimbabweans. Why is the blame shared by all Zimbabweans? ? Because we watch a lot of films both Hollywood and African movies. We want to watch political leaders playing the soap while we enjoy the drama in the comfort of our homes. They just want the film to end in favour of their sentiments without being a player," he said.

"Sometimes I feel offended by the massive pour of eulogy on Itai Dzamara ' s heroism on the social network. When he took the Long Journey to Freedom, how many of us appreciated what he was doing? How many of us joined him even for a single day? Up to the day of his abduction no one wanted to be associated with him, people afraid of the unknown. I remember one of the days when I joined his march to Rita Makarau ' ZEC offices, I received a number of calls from people I never thought hold such warped views asking me why I joined him."

He said they asked him is he thinks he will go anywhere with the demonstrations.

"That's how Zimbabweans behave. They condemn what good we do as leaders rather than urging us. The people's time shall come my brother Chofamba. The hour we will know that the struggle belongs to us and not individuals is the day Zimbabwe shall be free," he said.
