Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa has said an intrusion in his office is not an attack on him as an individual but an attack on the State as he represent the state both as a minister of Justice and Vice President.

On his facebook wall Mnangagwa said the office of Vice Presidency is a product of the Constitution.

"Therefore the Vice Presidency is an institution. An attack and intrusion of that office is an attack on the institution itself. It's not an attack on the person of ED Mnangagwa. Therefore those that break into a Vice President's office are enemies of the State," he said. "This makes it even more pertinent considering the office he is acting in. Being current holder (albeit temporary) of the Seal of the State , the reckless and brazen nature of this intrusion is meant to expose the establishment as vulnerable. Not ED Mnangagwa. So it's now incumbent upon the establishment to prove these enemies of the State wrong."
