The Migrant Workers Union South Africa met the South African Home Affairs department on Wednesday to discuss issues affecting immigrants in that country, a senior union official has said.
Butholezwe Nyathi the MWUSA National Coordinator said as indicated, they sat in the National Stakeholders Forum for the Department of Home Affairs on Wednesday, 20 January 2016.
"According to the agenda, the document I circulated was discussed," he said.
"We also made an appointment with the National Project Manager for ZSP and our delegation met in Johannesburg to prepare our presentation."
He said pressing issues that seem to be bothering people are: applying for children ie the study visa under their Zimbabwe Special Permirts (ZSP) holding parents, transfers of permits from old passports to new passports, getting new permit on a new passport after losing the old passport and refunds for payments done to VFS...this is pressing and I got an email today from someone who hasnt been refunded since September 2014.
"We will also get an update on various issues," he said.
