Plans to oust Mnangagwa from the presidium, through the pushing for the adoption of a women's quota system, suffered a blow after only three provinces out of ten resolved to have a female elated to the party's presidium.

Sources have disclosed that the final resolutions from Zanu-PF's annual conference last year are ready to be sent to the provinces sans the women's quota proposition.

The resolutions will be presented to the politburo and then sent to the provinces.

A senior politburo source close to Mnangagwa said if six provinces resolved to have a woman in the presidium, then Mnangagwa might have been elbowed out.
