The Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association has told the state media that they will resist efforts to extricate them from their close relationship with President Robert Mugabe and his wife Grace Mugabe.
The war veterans who held a provincial inter-district meeting in the capital this Saturday said they are fully behind the leadership of President Mugabe and Grace.
In an interview with ZBC after the meeting, which was also attended by the Minister of War Veterans, War Collaborators, former Detainees and Restrictees, Christopher Mutsvangwa, the Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association Secretary-General, Victor Matemadanda said war veterans remain solidly behind the First Family.
They also said they support Presidential spokesperson George Charamba on his stance with regard to goings on in the party.
