MPs divided over Mugabe's lavish bash

Masvingo opposition MPs have slammed President Mugabe's planned lavish birthday celebrations in the drought-stricken province.  

Zanu-PF legislators however say that there is nothing wrong with President Mugabe celebrating his birthday in Masvingo province.

The birthday bash is estimated to cost $800,000.

MDC Masvingo senator Misheck Marawa said Mugabe's bash was a slap in the face of long-suffering residents.

However, Masvingo Zanu-PF MPs said that the deteriorating socio-economic climate cannot deter Mugabe from celebrating his birthday.
