Charamba pushes for Mnangagwa
08 Feb 2016 at 07:48hrs | Views
Presidential spokesperson George Charamba allegedly started the move to replace President Mugabe with Emmerson Mnangagwa in 2014.
Charamba has been accused by the G40 faction and other Zanu-PF stalwarts like Didymus Mutasa of leaning towards Mnangagwa in the party's succession wars.
Insiders say Charamba was no doubt attempting to market Mnangagwa, who is accused of harbouring presidential ambitions and also creating another centre of power contrary to the party's 2014 congress resolutions to vest all powers in Mugabe.
