Zanu-PF Deputy Secretary for Science and Technology Development, Patrick Zhuwao says Norton legislator and Zanu PF Deputy War Veterans Secretary, Christopher Mutsvangwa's vote of no confidence must be upheld.
In December last year, the Mashonaland West Provincial Coordinating Committee passed a vote of no confidence in Mutsvangwa, recommending that he be recalled from parliament and be expelled from the party.
Zhuwawo who was addressing journalists in Harare said he supports the decision by the Mashonaland West PCC to pass a vote of no confidence in Mutsvangwa as he has shown that he is aligned to the west which has imposed illegal sanctions on Zimbabwe.
"My position is on the person of Chris Mutsvangwa who has stated that he has cordial relations with the European Union, which is maintaining sanctions on His Excellency President Robert Mugabe and the First Lady, Dr Grace Mugabe," he said.
" It is the PCC that recommends members to congress for inclusion into the Zanu PF Central Committee. Chris Mutsvangwa was only recommended to be member of the Zanu PF Central Committee after Zanu PF Mashonaland West Province withdrew its recommendation for Webster Shamu. Chris Mutsvangwa had previously the election conducted in Chegutu districy to Bybit Kambarami-Tsomondo," said Zhuwao, adding that he has no links to Mutsvangwa.
Zanu PF Central Committee member, Ephraim Chengeta, the Mashonaland West Provincial Chairman was also present at the press conference.
In December last year, Mashonaland West Province laid out charges against Mutsvangwa which included undermining the authority of President Mugabe by questioning the appointment of the current National Political Commissar, Saviour Kasukuwere and insulting the first family.
