Movement for Democratic Change led by Morgan Tsvangirai's Treasurer Roy Bennett, who had been seconded as deputy agriculture minister, has expressed shock and surprise at the decision by his party to replace him.

Bennett speaking from UK said he was surprised that his party, MDC-T, had finally submitted to President Mugabe's demands.

"What surprises me is that no-one in the party has had the courtesy to pick up the phone and inform me that this is the decision they have made"

Meanwhile, MDC-T party leadership was meeting late yesterday to tackle various issues amid indications that they were discussing the suspension of Harare provincial spokesperson Senator Obert Gutu among other issues.

Gutu was suspended by Harare province for comments attributed to him by WikiLeaks.

The party was also expected to discuss the Roy Bennett issue, who expressed surprise that he had been replaced as deputy minister of agriculture.
