A critique of the law that forbids children to be corporal punished, Tafadzwa Chinheva has said some of the children's rights have destroyed their lives and future as they make them do what ever they want without any one.
"I'm against a law which prohibits parents to discipline their children. That law gives children the right to freedom. Freedom to come home anytime they want, to be drunkards whilst they are still scholars, to sleep out at the age of 15 and so on," he said. "The issue of rights has destroyed many areas of life in this generation. Marriages, businesses and families. You feed that person, buy clothes for this child, pay fees and care for him and the government tells you not to give a few sjamboks when the child does not listen you."
Chinheva said a child must know that as long as he or she is under that roof,he has no rights.
"Every parent knows what's best for their children and no parent can be cruel their children. In countries like Zimbabwe we grew up in circumstances which involve sjambok should you break the law at home and at school," he said. "That help our country to be a crime free zone. That helped our country not to have gay marriage for it is a serious offence to be found that you are a moffie. If a child breaks the law, beat them up, after that they will have a nice afternoon nap. Otherwise you will end up breeding gays, criminals or even porn stars."
