Hlanganani expo a success says Shamu

Zimbabwe's Acting Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister, Webster Shamu says the 4th edition of the Sanganai/Hlanganani World Travel and Tourism Africa Fair has been a success, an indication that the country is a safe and attractive tourism destination.
Speaking after a tour of stands at the 4th edition of the Sanganai/Hlanganani expo in Harare, Cde Shamu said the country's tourism industry is poised for a massive growth as official figures released by the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority shows that all stands were fully booked.
Shamu said the increase in the number of exhibitors is an indication that Zimbabwe is a safe and attractive tourism destination.
"I am pleased with the exhibitions and we hope this will continue in the future," said Shamu.
Shamu, who is also the Minister of Media, Information and Publicity said government is focusing on policies to ensure that tourism indigenous companies play an important role in the recovery of the sector.
"The government is really committed to the growth of the tourism sector," Shamu added.
The Sanganai/Hlanganani expo which came to an end this Wednesday was held at a time when the tourism industry is projected to contribute at least 20% to the annual gross domestic product on the back of a rebound in foreign tourist arrivals.
