REPORTS that charismatic Spirit Embassy leader, Prophet Uebert Angel purchased a heading-turning Lamborghini worth a staggering US$400 000 as a Valentine's Day present for his sweetheart Prophetess Beverly Angel have left tongues wagging with speculation rife that the ride could be his way of celebrating the recent withdrawal of a fraud case levelled against him.
On her official twitter account, the prophet's wife of 16 years, Prophetess Angel posted pictures of herself receiving the red sports car keys with quotes stating, "A detour enroute to the gym ended up colouring my day red. Thank you my babe @uebertangel #lovinghusband #blessed"
The post was followed with a flurry of appreciation comments from thousands of the couple's followers.
Prophet Angel who was on the police wanted list on allegations of defrauding a Harare man of his vehicle, a Bentley Continental worth $300 000 was recently declared a free man after his warrant of arrest was cancelled last week.
The warrant of arrest that was issued on December 24, 2014; was cancelled by Harare provincial magistrate Mr Vakayi Chikwekwe after the complainant, Mr Ndabazinengi Shava indicated that he had opted for an out-of-court settlement.
However in sharp contrast, Angel's spokesperson Rikki Doolan, was quoted in an interview with United Kingdom based Onward Christian Radio claiming that Angel had won the case in court.
"The media covered this case extensively, some jumping to their own conclusions and some to their own confusion and it is a fact that this case ping-ponged in and out of court for far too long until Angel won in court. That is documented fact," Doolan said.
The case's withdrawal has raised speculation of Angel's return to Zimbabwe. His departure was more of a huff.
However, the posh car's worth has sent minds wondering whether the gift is indeed a Valentine's Day present (delivered four days before the day) or a celebration of the case's withdrawal.
It also seems like a slap in the face to Mr Shava whose Bentley Continental is valued $100 000 less than Beverly's new toy.
Prophetess Angel joins an A List of Hollywood stars like Rick Ross, 50 cent, Kanye West, Pierce Brosnan, Lamie Fox and Floyd Mayweather, among others who are proud owners of a Lamborghini or two.
Not one to shy away from controversy, Prophet Angel announced the rebranding of his church from Spirit Embassy to the Good News church late last year.
Displaying a popularity with stars prior to his birthday in the same period, Prophet Angel received congratulatory messages posted on lnstagram from some Hollywood stars.
The list included Gwen Stefani (musician), Vivica Fox (actress), Angela Basset (actress) as well as Terrence Howard, among others.
In 2013, he was also pictured with former South Africa president, the late Nelson Mandela.
He courted controversy when he prophesied that miracle money would emerge in believers' bank accounts.
