Mthwakazi Liberation Front  member Proud Mazilankatha Ncube has said  Matabeleland is a nation on its own which has been so long excluded by Zimbabwe government in developmental propgrammes hence there is a need for citizens to push for  the state's restoration.

In a statement Ncube said the view that Matabeleland is part of Zimbabwe is incorrect.

"Mthwakazi is a state which was built by the brave King who fled from Zululand during the reign of Tshaka. Notable is that when Mzilikazi establish Mthwakazi his throne was taken by Lobengyula who faced challenges from Cecil John Rhodes," Ncube said. " When the British South African Company established them selves in Harare, the Shona tribe thought that the settlers  were their protectors against the Ndebele, hence  the settlers worked hand in hand with Shona and this led to the Anglo Ndebele war."

Ncube said  the most effective cause of the so called Anglo Ndebele war was the boundary line issue. He said this is still a  burning  issue in hearts of every Mthwakazi people.

"This line was drawn by Starr Jamson to separate Mashonaland from Matabeleland. This line should be re drawn. More over due to the settlers' weapons, Ndebeles lost the battles of Anglo Ndebele," Ncube said. "As they were now ill treated by  settlers they united and fought the Chimurenga wars unfortunately they lost the battle. Thus then white took control over Zimbabwe. As this was still a  burning issue to people of Africa in modern day Zimbabwe, people like Umdala wethu Joshua Nkomo and others turned their backs and preferred to die for equality, fraternity and liberty."

He said thse tribes  came together to fight against their oppressors, thus the struggle for the liberation of Zimbabwe was fought. He said to be fair this war was  dominated by the Zipra army which was led by Nkomo.

"They won many battles for their colleagues the Zanla never won even a single battle despite  Gukurahundi which was declared on innocent and unarmed people," he said. Notable is that students taught exaggerated history non of the sources have the Zipra  history. I do not know what is real going wrong about the present demagogue leaders of Zimbabwe. The blood shed which they introduced is a very burning issue in places like Tsholotsho and Nkayi, thus why the villagers of these areas are able to axe a person to death. They saw it. Nowadays Mthwakazi people are  oppressed in many ways according to Zanu PF grand plan under the Zimbabwe Defence Forces they enjoy 95% power so as to instill perpertual fear to Mthwakazi people. The make sure that in each and every office even in Mthwakazi the Shonas hold  high  ranks."

Ncube said enough is enough  and Mthweakazi deserve respect.
