The Zimbabwe Republic Police has released the American-registered cargo plane which had been detained after a dead body was discovered when the aircraft landed at Harare International Airport on Sunday.
Police also say their investigations have revealed a high possibility that the individual was alive when he entered the plane.
Police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba told journalists that security services, foreign affairs and immigration officials cleared the cargo plane crew which has since left for South Africa with the body and the consignment of the rand currency.
The police also say a post mortem conducted on the body at Parirenyatwa Hospital did not detect any injuries, thus pathologists concluded the death was as a result of suffocation.
Police intercepted the cargo plane after it landed at Harare International Airport when it failed to get landing instructions from its company in Florida on February the 14th last week.
