ZANU-PF terror gang – Chipangano – is scaring investors, the House of Assembly was told recently.
Addressing legislators on 22 September 2011, Nyanga South lawmaker, Willard Manyowa Chimbetete said Chipangano members were going around beating innocent people and taking their properties.
He added that the country will not get any investors if the Zanu-PF militia outfit does not stop its operations.
"If you had the opportunity of watching the headlines yesterday, you would understand that this Chipangano is involved in taking people's properties saying we are Chipangano because Harare has been taken over by Zanu-PF youths.
"If we engaged in violence in the urban areas, I would like to talk to the Hon. Members on the other side (side of Zanu-PF), that for investor's to come into this country, they need peace especially in the capital city which is Harare. We will not get any investors if there is violence in the capital city," he said.
The MDC-T lawmaker added that politicians must learn to campaign peacefully.
"When are you going to learn to campaign peacefully? Let me tell you what my Bible says that even if you are involved in any form of violence, this year, you are not going to win.
"You are going to eat that violence because whether you like it or not, the Government that is not engaging in violence is going to win," he said.
Zanu PF has been accused of inciting and funding violence within its rank and file, the party has denied the allegations arguing that they are a construct of the opposition MDC formations that are bent of soiling its good image as a liberation movement.
