VICE-PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa has said Cabinet is divided over moves to abolish the death penalty.
He was responding to Masvingo Senator Misheck Marava.
"I am anti death penalty including some of my colleagues in government, but there are others who still want it and it is a question of individual positions."
"I know some day we will abolish it," Mnangagwa said.
About 92 prisoners are on death row in Zimbabwe.
The death penalty remains in the Constitution after Zimbabweans voted for its retention during consultations that led to the drafting of the new home grown Constitution.
