Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa is today expected to meet President Robert Mugabe to discuss the welfare of MPs some of whom have been stranded in Harare after Parliament failed to provide them with fuel to return to their constituencies.
Mnangagwa said he sought Mugabe's intervention after Speaker of the National Assembly Jacob Mudenda wrote to him, highlighting the plight of legislators. MPs were also owed sitting allowances.
Masvingo Senator Misheck Marava asked Mnangagwa on when Zimbabwe would abolish the death penalty, but the VP said Cabinet was divided over the issue.
