Govt plans to construct district hospital in Mbire

Deputy Minister of Health and Child Care Dr Aldrin Musiiwa' has said the Ministry has plans to construct a district hospital in Mbire and a site has already been identified at Mushumbi pool.

"A feasibility study for the proposed district hospital was done by the engineers from the Ministry of local Government, Public Works and National Housing in 2010. Due to limited fiscal space, the project has not received funding from Treasury," he said. "Efforts have been made to seek funding from outside and hence project proposals have been submitted to the Government of China and Ovid. Once funding is available, the programme should be able to take off."
